Efficiency, accuracy, and speed,
all at once.
I'm a
bit of a perfectionist — but that wouldn't
really matter if I couldn't work quickly enough to meet
your tight deadlines. So it's a pretty good thing
that I know Illustrator and Photoshop inside-out:
I tap away with the keyboard shortcuts like I'm playing
a piano, and my artistic background helps me make
the cleanest, most accurate die lines and masks you've
ever seen.
All work
and no play? No way.
My life doesn't begin
and end with the day job. In addition to
my career in the world of printing and advertising,
I have written articles, film and book reviews, and interviews for a variety
of web and print publications, including Gapers
Block; Bookslut; PISTIL
Magazine, a “Best New Title” nominee
in 2005’s Utne Independent Press Awards; and Comic
Book Galaxy. (You can find these in the Writing section.)
Not content to simply write about books, movies and comics, I also wrote and illustrated (with a little help, on occasion) the book-centric non-fiction comic strip Stripped Books, from October, 2004, to April, 2006, originally for Bookslut and then later its own site. Since July, 2005,
I have written and illustrated Multiplex, a
weekly humor comic strip about the staff of a movie
theater. I have also contributed comics features to PISTIL
Magazine and Barrelhouse.
In early 2007, I began co-hosting The Triple Feature, a weekly, live talkcast about movies, with two other
movie-loving cartoonists. And if all that wasn't enough, I like to take photos, too. |
